Himsben Design Studio, LLCThis unique pair of spaces serve as open green space and entertainment area for a complex of mixed-use buildings in Chicago. Formal garden incorporating colorful perennials, and new lawn provide respite for residents. On the opposite courtyard, a new large paver patio areas softened with plantings will offer an entertainment space.
Windsor CompaniesThe entire grounds of this Lake Minnetonka home was renovated as part of a major home remodel.
The orientation of the entrance was improved to better align automobile traffic. The new permeable driveway is built of recycled clay bricks placed on gravel. The remainder of the front yard is organized by soft lawn spaces and large Birch trees. The entrance to the home is accentuated by masses of annual flowers that frame the bluestone steps.
On the lake side of the home a secluded, private patio offers refuge from the more publicly viewed backyard.
This project earned Windsor Companies a Grand Honor award and Judge's Choice by the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association.

Hampstead Garden DesignOur client in Hampstead Garden Suburb, north London, commissioned us to design a garden which creates spaces for entertaining, combined with plenty of space for play. The design and materials used for the garden complement the architecture of the house, situated in a beautiful conservation area, whilst also meeting the needs of a modern family. The planting scheme is designed to be pretty, whilst also including evergreen structure to create interest throughout the year.
Botalia DesignsThis ground cover is a wonderful alternative to sod. It is drought tolerant and tolerate some foot traffic.
Art Garden DesignThis Berkeley property had overgrown vines, concaving fences, rotted deck, dead lawn, broken concrete, and poor drainage. After removing about 30 yards of soil from this lot, we were able to begin leveling and sculpting the landscape. We installed new concrete pathways, synthetic lawn, custom swing and arbor, Thermory wood decking with metal railings, paver patio with masonry stone wall seating, and stone mosaic water feature with stainless steel wire to match. Many elements tied together nicely in this modern Berkeley backyard.
