Jetton Construction, Inc.This four-story home underwent a major renovation, centering both sustainability and style. A full dig out created a new lower floor for family visits that opens out onto the grounds, while a roof deck complete with herb garden, fireplace and hot tub offers a more private escape. All four floors are connected both by an elevator and a staircase with a continuous, curved steel and bronze railing. Rainwater collection, photovoltaic and solar thermal systems integrate with the surrounding environment.

Rooftopia, LLCAt the onset of this project, we found a roof deck garden in dire need of repair after a strong wind storm blew over an older pergola and screen system previously attached to limestone parapet caps. Our goal was to design and install a sturdier low maintenance screen system to protect against any future wind storms. We replaced limestone parapet caps, repaired the roof membrane and flashing, painted the walls and then replaced old stone tiles with sleek porcelain pavers. Our one of a kind hardwood screens add privacy from the windows of the adjacent high rise. Other details include a custom outdoor kitchen, lots of LED lighting to add warmth and illumination in the evening and a variety of gorgeous plants and ornamental trees, some reclaimed from the old garden. All plants are on an automated irrigation system.
Lee Edwards - residential designSituated on the west slope of Mt. Baker Ridge, this remodel takes a contemporary view on traditional elements to maximize space, lightness and spectacular views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. We were approached by Vertical Construction Group to help a client bring their 1906 craftsman into the 21st century. The original home had many redeeming qualities that were unfortunately compromised by an early 2000’s renovation. This left the new homeowners with awkward and unusable spaces. After studying numerous space plans and roofline modifications, we were able to create quality interior and exterior spaces that reflected our client’s needs and design sensibilities. The resulting master suite, living space, roof deck(s) and re-invented kitchen are great examples of a successful collaboration between homeowner and design and build teams.
