Custom cherry cabinets were chosen in order to maximize storage. This wall and island of cabinetry did no exist at all prior to the remodel; it was just an empty wall. An under cabinet mount microwave was chosen to get it off the counter. A request was made for extra outlets along the wall for various appliances. The double oven was removed replaced with a single oven unit. I see this as a trend with clients opting to get rid of a second oven in favor of the space gained. Double ovens are necessary on such few occasions. Glass front cabinets were used in two locations adding depth and interest. Undercabinet lighting was used under all cabinets. Under cabinet lighting is often used in preference to overhead lighting for many kitchen chores. An ogee edge was chosen for this granite.
