Long Beach Condo Baker’s Kitchen (AFTER)

AFTER RENOVATION - The original kitchen was from the 70’s; dark and closed off by short wall and peninsula with overhead cabinets dividing it from the dining room. We eliminated the wall and cabinets above the peninsula, took some space from the dining room, and consolidated the refrigerator and pantry to one wall. This allowed the cooking area more counter space and gave more room for the sink/prep area. A small niche next to the pantry allows the client to keep her blender out and available for daily use without being in the line of sight from the dining room. Her mixer was something she wanted available on the counter, so placing it in the corner between the cooking and cleaning area while functional for baking fills an otherwise dead space with an item that is used daily. The peninsula was a priority for prep space and a place to serve food when entertaining.
