Steely blue wall is warmed up by the accessories in reds and other bright colors.

Ceiling recessed lights with a ceiling fan

LED back lighting might be good behind mantel art. Here it's used instead behind TV, which seems harsh for viewing

Camouflage Televisions are decor black holes: When off, the large black surfaces suck up light and draw way too much attention to such an undecorative piece. One of the simplest ways to hide them is to fight fire with fire. Place a TV in front of (or even set into) a very dark wall. This will literally camouflage your screen to the point where you barely notice it at all.

Ceiling lighting is good above mantel, plus elsewhere in room, even with a ceiling fan.

Interestingly simple but classy TV wall, interesting use of lighting, including lighting beside seating

Combo of contemporary chair and floor lamp. Notes say that media wall uses wireless transmitter to send signals to media boxes, which are tucked away in cabinets.

Q

TV becomes one element among several hung on wall, including cabinets. How are cables hidden?

Q

Wall sconces flanking mantle are helpful to light it up, and also add light to room overall, especially dark corner.

Q

Billede

This room looks fresh and well-orchestrated, but not cold or too formal. I like restrained use of colors and accessories.

Q

Good foundation of neutrals and white let various blues play well together, along with tiny bits of other colors.

Q

Billede

Blues are too matchy-matchy. Need a little more variety in color.

Wall sconce to light reading/piano area

Example of ceiling fan plus recessed lights. How is mantle lit here?

Q

Billede

Would it look right to have sconces on each side of the mantle to light up artwork there, plus provide enough light for reading in recliners below?

Q

Floor lamp is contemporary, and nearly disappears into room decor
