Jesse has worked many months on the project of my house in Eugene, OR., an old house whose foundation needed to be redone and the new basement was made into a liveable space after the house was raised. He has always been so helpful and knowledgeable, despite his very busy schedule. He was able to always prioritise my needs. He would reply to my email from France right away, despite the 9 hour time difference. He worked diligently with the city of Eugene in order to obtain the many permits that we needed for the project. “Sonya Misiaszek came highly recommended to us by friends who were satisfied clients. It was very important to us that we had an experienced architect who would complete the job in a timely manner, would listen to our needs and wishes, had a good working relationship with the general contractor and his subs, and who was sensitive to the pristine wooded lakeside setting in which our 5,000+ sq ft home was to be constructed. We lived several states away from the project and were very pleased with Sonya's management of the design and construction and with her help in making decisions from afar. Sonya incorporated all of our unconventional ideas that made this house unique and dearly loved by our family. She included secret spaces for each of our children, two screened in sleeping porches with panoramic lake views, a loft on the second story looking over the kitchen, two stone fireplaces, a large walkout basement with ample storage space and a large boat room. She helped us select natural finishes that gave the house the interior "golden glow" for which we were hoping. We also specifically asked for the house to have a "camp like" feel, and Sonya's familiarity with New Hampshire inspired her to add camp sinks in the kids' rooms, painted floors and horizontal pine paneling (some distressed) and ceilings throughout, and stained rustic skirl siding on the exterior. This house is solid, and there is nowhere that we feel safer. It is very cozy, virtually pest proof, and it not only fits into its natural surroundings but also feels like a true reflection of us. The property came with a number of building restrictions and environmental protection issues. Sonya's patience and persistence kept the project moving, and it was completed in less than 14 months. Our expectations were exceeded.”

“In 2012 we purchased a 120 year old house in our town's historic district. The previous owner had lived in the house since 1941 and very little had been done in that time to update any of the systems. The house did not have a garage, needed a comprehensive restoration and needed to have the kitchen updated to modern standards. As our town's historic district had a reputation of being very challenging to work with, we knew that we needed an architect with an extensive knowledge of historic buildings and an expertise on how to work with town boards. Also, as we would be living out of state during the renovation/ addition, we were looking for an architect who could effectively manage the project and communicate ongoing status and issues in a clear concise manner. John Battle showed up on day one ready to go. He quickly recognized how to best preserve the historic elements of our house while at the same time cost-effectively modernizing the structure. He and his team worked up a creative design for the garage that was in harmony with the existing house, and one that was ultimately approved by the Historic District. I can not emphasize this part of our project enough: dealing with Historic District had the potential to be extremely stressful, but John's calm and persistent demeanor successfully navigated this. His plans for the main house modernized the kitchen and turned it into the epicenter of family activity - his design came out so well that it ended up on the cover of This Old House magazine. Ultimately we are in an wonderful old house that thanks to John and his team, retains all of the charms from another time but offers all of the modern comforts.
