“The Smith & Robertson team designed and built a custom house for us at Wintergreen VA. We started in March, 2012 and finished in January, 2013. We had a great experience designing and building, and are very pleased with the final product. Glenn and Ron are easy to work with and have a can-do attitude. The design was exactly what we wanted. They were able to put our dream home on paper and make it work. They were very creative on where to save money on the project, but also how to include some of the perks we really wanted. The sub-contractors they hired were professional and, for the most part, on time. The building supplies that S & R insisted on using were top-notch. Our "green rating", a big focus for S & R, is a big plus to our new home. We were able to stay within budget. We would highly recommend this wonderful team for design/build.”

“We selected house plans and purchased raw land years before we were ready to start building. I researched A LOT and knew to expect stress and surprises when building a custom home. Once we were ready, we met with a few of the the big builders around here but I wasn’t impressed with the quality for the price. Taormina Homes was referred to us and when I walked through a home they were constructing, I knew instantly it was what we were looking for.
I really enjoyed the construction process and being able to work with the entire Taormina family. They kept us up-to-date, often daily, and there weren’t surprises or variables that completely caught us off guard. Nick was patient with me constantly changing up my tile and lighting selections but also gave sound advice on many things throughout our build. I really loved being able to have a say on all the design choices and our home turned out so much better than I ever dreamed.
My father is a custom builder in another state and when he visited halfway through our construction, he commented on the great craftsmanship and cleanliness of our job site which are two of the highest forms of compliment in the industry.
A lender told us years ago, building a custom home is not for the faint of heart. Knowing that, the most important part for us was finding a builder we could trust, and who would help us get the best quality and design for our budget and Taormina Homes was exactly that: ethical, knowledgeable, honest, flexible.”

He cares about doing things right, and he hates wasting money -- an unbeatable combination. He is extremely knowledgeable about houses, both building & renovating, and he enjoys having an interesting problem to solve. Subcontractors were competent and well-supervised. Work proceeded in a timely manner, although I kept adding to the scope of the project so we didn't have a timetable in place. Toward the end of the job, my son became very ill in London and I was away for weeks at a time. This was never a problem, because I knew Bill would be looking after my interests while I was away, and consulting me as necessary when choices needed to be made.”
