Bench
Located in the Belmont Lofts in Charlottesville Virginia, this project started out as a request for additional storage. After talking with the clients about how they used their space we determined that what they wanted was a better eating area. The first step was to raise the floor. This allowed them to enjoy their view while sipping their morning coffee and created a more intimate space within their loft. The second step was to incorporate the additional storage into a bench and built-in table.
The cabinet accomodates several types of storage, lighting and a small display cabinet. Maple is used to match with the existing kitchen cabinets and aluminum inlays accentuate the fine detailing.
