Perfect PoolsIndoor Swimming Pool built for a client in Fairfax, Virginia during pre-construction of their new house. We had to work hand and hand with the builder to make sure that this project turned out with the style and appearance that the client was looking for. Wall to wall windows, a custom ventilation system to make sure that the room stays mold free, custom drop down tv screen for movies, sports, and entertaining. The patio and coping is a walnut travertine. This entire space comes equipped with a sauna, indoor full kitchen, and full bathroom.
AquaTerra OutdoorsThe remarkable Greek inspired indoor pool facility has a blend of contemporary rectilinear components with Greek-Roman architectural elements and finishes, such as the over-extending, ancient-style aqueduct that transitions from the spa into the pool, and the hand carved fire-water features at each end of the room. The aqueduct is a key relevance to the style which portrays an ancient cultural method of elutriating stagnant bath water with a continuous supply of fresh water. Each elaborately hand carved feature sets a mood of Greek architectural expression in this space. The two fire-water features at each end of the pool and all of the column structural support depict a ‘Doric’ style consisting of channeled columns. Also, to enhance this space with a full perspective of Greek-Roman style, the convex ceiling depicts a vision of an opened-ceiling that reveals a fully animated Greek-mythological star setting created by fiber optic lighting. Geothermal technology is the primary source for heating and cooling the pool and spa. Although they appear to be one body of water, they are independent so the spa can be maintained at 103degrees all year round.

Halper Architects LLCThe house is located in Conyers Farm, a residential development, known for its’ grand estates and polo fields. Although the site is just over 10 acres, due to wetlands and conservation areas only 3 acres adjacent to Upper Cross Road could be developed for the house. These restrictions, along with building setbacks led to the linear planning of the house. To maintain a larger back yard, the garage wing was ‘cranked’ towards the street. The bent wing hinged at the three-story turret, reinforces the rambling character and suggests a sense of enclosure around the entry drive court.
Designed in the tradition of late nineteenth-century American country houses. The house has a variety of living spaces, each distinct in shape and orientation. Porches with Greek Doric columns, relaxed plan, juxtaposed masses and shingle-style exterior details all contribute to the elegant “country house” character.

This project features an 18’0” x 32’0” indoor swimming pool, 3’6” to 5’0” deep, and a 6’0” x 9’0” hot tub inside the pool. Surrounding the pool are 4 LED color changing lit Laminar flow water features. The enlarged top step and attached bench provides seating and lounging in the shallow end. The pool coping is Ledgestone. The pool also features an automatic pool safety cover with custom stone lid system. The pool also features a Helix slide. The pool and hot tub surface is Ceramaquartz. Designed and constructed by Guncast, this luxurious basement swimming pool in Wimbledon, London, offers a generous-sized pool, with a stunning stone wall and water feature. The pool also features a light well, letting natural light flood into the swimming pool from the garden above. The sunken courtyard at the back of pool leads with steps up into the garden. With a deck level pool design, the water seamlessly joins with the stone surround, resulting in a mirror-like effect. With the sauna and steam room close by, overlooking the pool, the London-based client has the perfect space for relaxing and recuperating after a long week. With space at a premium, basement swimming pools are becoming increasingly popular and with innovations in pool design and technology, basement pools are in-demand, especially in parts of London and surrounding counties.

Sunspace Design, Inc.Although less common than projects from our other product lines, a Sunspace Design pool enclosure is one of the most visually impressive products we offer. This custom pool enclosure was constructed on a beautiful four acre parcel in Carlisle, Massachusetts. It is the third major project Sunspace Design has designed and constructed on this property. We had previously designed and built an orangery as a dining area off the kitchen in the main house. Our use of a mahogany wood frame and insulated glass ceiling became a focal point and ultimately a beloved space for the owners and their children to enjoy. This positive experience led to an ongoing relationship with Sunspace.
We were called in some years later as the clients were considering building an indoor swimming pool on their property. They wanted to include wood and glass in the ceiling in the same fashion as the orangery we had completed for them years earlier. Working closely with the clients, their structural engineer, and their mechanical engineer, we developed the elevations and glass roof system, steel superstructure, and a very sophisticated environment control system to properly heat, cool, and regulate humidity within the enclosure.
Further enhancements included a full bath, laundry area, and a sitting area adjacent to the pool complete with a fireplace and wall-mounted television. The magnificent interior finishes included a bluestone floor. We were especially happy to deliver this project to the client, and we believe that many years of enjoyment will be had by their friends and family in this new space.
