Kate Johns DesignsThe dark midnight blue master bedroom with bead board ceiling painted white. It has a high dormer with clerestory windows on one side and a full height dormer with tall windows facing the view on the other. The fireplace and reading chairs and ottoman make it a cozy place to read.
JLF & Associates, Inc.History, revived. An early 19th century Dutch farmstead, nestled in the hillside of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, offered a storied canvas on which to layer replicated additions and contemporary components. Endowed with an extensive art collection, the house and barn serve as a platform for aesthetic appreciation in all forms.
Northworks Architects + PlannersAs part of the Walnut Farm project, Northworks was commissioned to convert an existing 19th century barn into a fully-conditioned home. Working closely with the local contractor and a barn restoration consultant, Northworks conducted a thorough investigation of the existing structure. The resulting design is intended to preserve the character of the original barn while taking advantage of its spacious interior volumes and natural materials.
