Mike Farley Pool Designer, SWD, ASLAThis is a beautiful natural freeform pool and spa receltly on HGTV located in Dallas, TX. The big thing about this project that was unique was the trees. We were required to save all the trees. There are a lot of areas where the paving is not mortared together to allow moisture and air through to help the trees. There is a 6' elevation change that helps incorporate the boulders and waterfall into the hillside for a more natural look. There was an existing green house that was removed and the existing garage was turned it into a cabana/pool house with a covered area to relax in with furniture by the deep end of the pool. There is a big deep end for lots of activity along with a nice size shallow end for water sports, including basketball. The clients' wish list included a cave, slide, and waterfalls along with a firepit. The cave can comfortably sit 6 people and is cool in the hot Texas weather. We used pockets of plants around to soften things and break up all the rock to create a more natural look with the overall setting. A bridge was built between the pool and the spa to look like an illusion that the water is running from the pool down into the spa. 2013 APSP Region3 Bronze Award - Designed by Mike Farley. Pu'uwai Design & ConstructionThe lanai serves as a second great room. A wicker sofa and matching armchairs overlook the ocean view. Blue and white pillows decorate the outdoor furniture and continue the beach house theme used throughout the home. The coral motif on the rug compliments the throw pillows and the cream colored cushions ground the space, the outdoor dining chairs are built out of recycled boat wood. A shell chandelier hangs above the teak table. On the far side of the lanai an orange swing bed hangs next to some red floor poufs.

This remodel involves extensive excavation, demolition, drainage, and structural work. We aim to maximize the visual appeal and functions while preserving the privacy of the homeowners in this dense urban neighborhood.

Amber Freda Garden DesignThis West Village rooftop garden features a custom ipe horizontal fence and planter, concrete pavers, and outdoor dining and sectional seating. It also includes black fiberglass planters filled with Japanese maples, bamboo, maiden grasses, hydrangeas, and knockout roses. SealGreen - ReUse Concrete Sealing Specialist, LLCStamped concrete had not been seal for many years and lost all the sealer and color faded. The freeze and thaw weather also contributed to the concrete to spall creating light brown pot marks on the concrete. We restore the color with Bark Brown color stain, and seal it with SealGreen E10 Epoxy sealer to prevent the damage from future extreme weather. Unfortunately it is not possible to fill in the pot marks but with the color they became less visible and part of the character of the concrete. As a matter of fact our customer was complemented by one of his guests because it look like new.
