Designer Genevieve Ghaleb was inspired by the presentday Contemporary Movement in Miami to
create this room for a busy gentleman in
need of intentional daily luxury. A lot of the
elements feature simple, clean lines. According
to her, “The Percy® Collection Faucets capture
this perfectly—their proportion is like no
other I’ve seen.” So refined, they just sit back
unobtrusively in this contemporary space.

“Simple and sophisticated interior and exterior that harmonizes with the site. Like the integration of the flat roof element into the main gabled form next to garage. It negotiates the line between traditional and modernist forms and details successfully.”
This single-family vacation home on the Michigan shoreline accomplished the balance of large, glass window walls with the quaint beach aesthetic found on the neighboring dunes. Drawing from the vernacular language of nearby beach porches, a composition of flat and gable roofs was designed. This blending of rooflines gave the ability to maintain the scale of a beach cottage without compromising the fullness of the lake views.
The result was a space that continuously displays views of Lake Michigan as you move throughout the home. From the front door to the upper bedroom suites, the home reminds you why you came to the water’s edge, and emphasizes the vastness of the lake view.
Marvin Windows helped frame the dramatic lake scene. The products met the performance needs of the challenging lake wind and sun. Marvin also fit within the budget, and the technical support made it easy to design everything from large fixed windows to motorized awnings in hard-to-reach locations.

Our brief was to redecorate the master bedroom for our client and to furnish the recently added study, designed by Carr Design.
The brief was open, our suggestion to treat the master bedroom with sheer linen curtains helped to soften the room, simple blue & white textiles with hand blocked patterns were used which appear almost as a texture from a distance. Natural timber bedside tables with Tolomeo reading lights offer a simple and uncluttered look, maximising space for young children to run about.
The study has been furnished with our custom designed oak desk with Holland & Sherry wool upholstered cup pulls, bespoke flat weave rug in soft green and beige and a very smart vintage chair in Nympheus printed linen by GP & J Baker, London. The sheer linen soft roman blinds add softness and filter the strong sun on hot days, a perfect spot for our client to work from home or relax with children and dogs.
