SV DesignOriginally designed by J. Merrill Brown in 1887, this Queen Anne style home sits proudly in Cambridge's Avon Hill Historic District. Past was blended with present in the restoration of this property to its original 19th century elegance. The design satisfied historical requirements with its attention to authentic detailsand materials; it also satisfied the wishes of the family who has been connected to the house through several generations.

White Crane ConstructionThis stunning mid-century whole house remodel focuses on integrating great new fixtures, finishes and materials, while preserving the integrity of the original architectural aesthetic. This atomic age gem has many original architectural features like a custom copper fireplace hood, 12' stacking wood doors, and original woodwork that mesh seamlessly with the new design elements. Included in the project are an owners' suite with new master bath, a new kitchen, and completely remodeled main and lower levels.

AHMANN LLCContinuing the lines of the existing wrap-around porch, we were able to create a family kitchen with a raised ceiling culminating in a large skylight. The warmth of natural lighting highlights the palate of the material selection. The kitchen extends out to a new deck and yard beyond.

Merrick Design and Build Inc.We were delighted to remodel the kitchen of our CEO’s home . The tiny kitchen was hanging on by a thread. We blew out a wall incorporating the dining room into the space and added a new sunny dining room off the back of the home. The warm wood cabinets and black accents fit with the style of the home and the personality of our home owners. We hope you find them inspiring.
BRADSHAW DESIGNS LLCCalacatta marble slab creates a stunning focal point behind the Thermador gas range. The large arch and smaller niches were re-created by templating existing arches in this beautiful historic home. Beams mimic hand hewn beams found in the entry. The cabinet bracket shape was copied from the original cabinets. The unique light above the sink used to be in the butler's pantry.
