This recently installed boot room in Oval Room Blue by Culshaw, graces this compact entrance hall to a charming country farmhouse. A storage solution like this provides plenty of space for all the outdoor apparel an active family needs. The bootroom, which is in 2 L-shaped halves, comprises of 11 polished chrome hooks for hanging, 2 settles - one of which has a hinged lid for boots etc, 1 set of full height pigeon holes for shoes and boots and a smaller set for handbags. Further storage includes a cupboard with 2 shelves, 6 solid oak drawers and shelving for wicker baskets as well as more shoe storage beneath the second settle. The clients of this property were struggling to make the entrance and living rooms work for them as a family. They were also struggling for storage in their home. They loved music, reading and relaxing but were finding it difficult to incorporate all these needs witihin the space. The entrance was a good size but had lost its function. The living room was also a good size but due to its shape it was hard to create a focal point. We were commissioned to help make both areas work for them. With the entrance we created a stud wall which allowed us to then create a beautiful storage cupboard. Within the cupboard we added LED lights which came on everytime the doors open and downlights inside and out. Not only did this unit provide function but it gave a beautiful aesthetic to the entrance. With the living room we created three zones. The living/tv zone, the snug/music zone and the reading zone. We created cabinetry to compliment these spaces. The clients wanted to keep their existing sofas . We added wide slat wooden venetian blinds to continue the contemporary look.

To keep the safety inspectors happy (and in case the meeting is too dull) we needed an alternative escape route other than our entrance hall. So we had a little fun. You can nip to the ensuite and out through this secret mirror door/wall. The concealment was so well engineered to be disguised it fools everyone - (SEE NEXT OPEN IMAGE).

This house was completely remodelled with the kitchen being carefully designed around the new and old spaces. The finished layout used these spaces to advantage to create the main working hub of the kitchen to one side, allowing the island to enhance the length of the room and maintain the ‘flow’. Even in a large space such as this, the main elements are close at hand to ensure the kitchen is efficient and a pleasure to use.
