Krownlab
These homeowners added a great flexible space by adding this great little unit in the back yard. Is it a studio? An office? A guest room? All of these and more! The interior opens directly into the back yard and garden by using Krown Lab's ROB ROY sliding barn door hardware on a wall of moveable windows. By designing in this flexibility they really blend the line between living spaces and bring the outdoors in.

Reverse Architecture
Renovation of a 1940's ranch house which inserts a new steel and glass volume between the existing house and carport. The new volume is taller in the back in order to create a more expansive interior within the otherwise compressed horizontality of the ranch house. The large expanse of glass looks out onto a private yard and frames the domestic activities of the kitchen within.
Mosaic Gardens
This soft, pastel planting along a driveway draws influence from cottage gardens, although its plant palette was driven largely by voracious deer. This garden was featured in the March/April 2013 issue of Fine Gardening and pictured in the May 2012 issue of Sunset. See more photos of this garden at our website, mosaic-gardens.com.
