The art glass windows, used throughout the house, filter the sunlight rather than just letting it shine in. The built in bookcases and window seat at the top of the stair provide a cozy place to curl up with a book on a snowy Illinois day.

Verbeck Design Studios IncThis metal-framed stair case with lighted treads is at the center of a 900 square foot atrium. Landscaped with vegetation and boulders salvaged from the site, a gentle two-story waterfall tumbles through to a pond.
ArtichokeThis bespoke professional cook's kitchen features a custom copper and stainless steel La Cornue range cooker and extraction canopy, built to match the client's copper pans. Italian Black Basalt stone shelving lines the walls resting on Acero stone brackets, a detail repeated on bench seats in front of the windows between glazed crockery cabinets. The table was made in solid English oak with turned legs. The project’s special details include inset LED strip lighting rebated into the underside of the stone shelves, wired invisibly through the stone brackets.
Primary materials: Hand painted Sapele; Italian Black Basalt; Acero limestone; English oak; Lefroy Brooks white brick tiles; antique brass, nickel and pewter ironmongery.

We also replaced the valance in the kitchen with the same fabric that was used for the Family Room panels. Both rooms were in the same view.

Fabrications LLCWe went for the drama in this cathedral-ceiling family room by mounting all the panels at the height of the tallest window. Behind the stationary Roman shades with bottom banding there is just wall, so we did not loose any light or view.
